A hydronic system circulates water continuously, and our hard water accelerates pump wear and leaves deposits on valves. That is a gradual process rather than a single failure, which is why boilers tend to lose zone control or develop noise slowly. Annual maintenance is what catches it early.
If heat reaches your rooms through radiant floors, baseboards or radiators, you have a boiler. If it arrives through vents and there is an air filter to change, you have a furnace. Some homes run both. We can usually confirm which over the phone before scheduling anything.
